(DAVIS COUNTY SHERIFF)
I am very happy Andy Oblad has decided to run for Sheriff of Davis County. I am also very excited to endorse him.
Having served as the Sheriff for the past seven years, I understand better than anyone what it takes to successfully run a Sheriff’s Office as large and as complex as the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, and I know Andy has the right stuff! He will do a great job as Sheriff.
As I contemplate my own retirement from Sheriff, one thing foremost in my mind has been ensuring there is a candidate I am confident will continue the great progress the Davis County Sheriff’s Office has made over the last several years. Andy stepping forward to run for Sheriff has given me that confidence.
Andy Oblad has been a vital part of my administration since I became Sheriff. Andy has shared my vision to make the Sheriff’s Office the most professional law enforcement organization. I have worked alongside him every day and have developed great trust in his knowledge, ability and intentions.
I know Andy will be successful as Sheriff because he has already proven himself. As Chief Deputy for the last seven years, Andy has commanded all three major bureaus within the Sheriff’s Office. He directed the day-to-day operations of the Law Enforcement Bureau for four years. This included, patrol, investigations, court security and the crime lab. Following that I asked him to take charge of the
administrative arm of the Sheriff’s Office where he headed up the office of budgeting, planning, records, emergency management and support services. Then for the past year he has commanded the Corrections Bureau, where he has already made some significant improvements in operations at the Davis County Jail. In all of these areas Andy has proven himself to be effective, efficient and extremely successful in all the major functions of the Sheriff’s Office.
In many conversations with Andy, I have come to appreciate his understanding of the importance of the Constitution, the proper role of law enforcement, the need to maintain high ethical standards in our operations and in our people, and the critical mission of the Sheriff’s Office to serve the community and improve the quality of life for everyone in Davis County.
I hope you will get to know Andy Oblad as well as I have. I know that if you do you will also come to have confidence in his professional abilities, and an appreciation for his conservative values and his desire to serve.
He really is the best candidate for Davis County Sheriff, and I could not be more proud to endorse him.

(SLCPD OFFICER)
I have had the personal privilege to not only know Andy, but to be on the receiving end of his knowledge, skill, and leadership.
On September 28, 2017, he responded to a call he wasn't required to, but did out of welfare for his fellow officers. As he arrived on my scene, within 20 seconds he was thrown into a situation no officer wants to face, and as a result my life was saved.
But that action didn't just save my life, it saved my family. They could have been living a very different life if it wasn't for him. Our family honors his name because he changed the course of our lives by being the person that he is.
Andy has always done what was right, even when it could be easier to shrink or take the easy path. But that's not who Andy is. He goes above and beyond, all while staying humble and kind. He fully has my endorsement as Davis County Sheriff. The county will thrive under his leadership, guidance, and care.

(RETIRED ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE-SLCPD)

Andy is a genuinely good man with a strong moral compass, steady leadership, and a whole lot of integrity. I've seen firsthand the way he treats people and the level of character he brings to everything he does.
Davis County would be fortunate to have him leading the Sheriff's Office.
If you're looking for someone you can trust to do the right thing, I encourage you to take a good look at Andy.

(CHIEF OF POLICE (RETIRED), WEST JORDAN POLICE DEPARTMENT, PAST-PRESIDENT, UTAH CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION)
Andy Oblad is one of the best public safety leaders and very best people I've worked with.
I've known him since early in his career and I've seen him live and work in perfect integrity as his responsibilities have increased. The values and principles that he lives and his kindness and smarts will help him be a great Sheriff.
I have kids and grandkids living in Davis County and I am grateful that they enjoy the benefits and blessings of a Sheriff's Office lead by Chief Deputy Oblad.

(ASSISTANT SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE (RETIRED) FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION SLC OFFICE)
Anyone familiar with Andy Oblad knows his character, vast experience, and 1 unwavering dedication to law enforcement. He has demonstrated remarkable courage in the face of challenges that exceed what most of encounter in our entire careers.
Those who have served alongside Andy can attest to his exceptional leadership and commitment to the community. Having worked with Andy professionally for over a decade, I wholeheartedly endorse him for Sheriff of Davis County. Beyond our professional ties, I have the privilege of knowing Andy and his family personally. I have stood by him during his most difficult moments and witnessed a quality that sets him apart: he truly cares.
While the nature of law enforcement can ofter lead to cynicism, Andy remains remarkably resilient and compassionate. He hasn't just survived the 'hard time'
- he has emerged with more empathy and dedication for the community he serves.
His genuine concern for people, combined with his proven leadership, makes him the ideal choice for Sheriff.

People just need to see 3 seconds of the security camera footage from the Trolly Square shooting to know the kind of person Andy Oblad is.
I watched the moment a shot was fired in the building and Andy immediately turned and sprinted toward the sound while everyone else in the video was doing the opposite.
He not only preaches honor and integrity...he exemplifies it. I don't doubt that his response to that horrific incident is still being used to train officers decades later. I know that his reaction in that instant is forever burned in my memory as an aspirational standard.
I also got to know Andy and his family on a personal level and can comfortably say that he's as good as they get!.
